Why this exists

A green postcard showed up in a mailbox in Omaha in September 2026. It said "Notice of Proposed Tax Increase," cited four statutes, listed two hearings, and explained none of it. The person holding it didn't know what the allowable growth percentage was, whether $0 was good news, or whether showing up at 6:05 PM on a Wednesday would change anything.

DCTaxWatch.org is the site we wished existed that day. It translates the notices Douglas County property owners receive, lays out the rights Nebraska law gives them, and makes it take two minutes to be heard.
